Setup: Move the axis into position at the touch of a button (jog mode)
Incremental feed mode: Move axes along paths already stored in a table (for example, at initial startup).
MDI (Manual Data Input)/MDI on-the-fly: positioning to any positions at any speed.
Automatic follow-on block/single block: Traversing of complex positioning profiles; continuous/step by step, forward/backward.
Special functions
Longitudinal measuring
Start and stop positioning runs via the fast input of the FM 353
Jerk limitation
Set actual value on-the-fly
Mode of operation
The user must perform the following initial steps:
Coordination of mechanical system and electronics: Easily achieved by entering machine data using the parameterization software (configuring package is included in the scope of supply of the FM 353).
Specify travel profiles:
For simple point-to-point positioning: Specify end position and traversing speed via the S7 CPU.
For more complex tasks: Traversing programs, created with parameterization screen forms to DIN 66025 on a programming device or in teach-in mode.
The FM 353 handles the actual positioning of the stepper motor axis. It transmits pulses to the stepper motor's power section. The number of pulses defines the length of the traversing path. The pulse frequency governs the traversing speed .
