System redundancy SINAMICS S120 supports the PROFINET function "system redundancy": SINAMICS S120 can now be connected to high-availability systems such as SIMATIC S7‑400H with two controllers. No additional hardware is required to make the connection. Complex automation tasks in the process industry, in particular, where plant availability and redundancy of the control system are essential, require reliable communication with a high-availability system. Both controllers of the high-availability system always have access to the SINAMICS S120.
