The SIMATIC HMI IRD400 links a 7-segment display and/or an infrared interface in a PROFINET network in the TIA Portal. The bright 7-segment display – as a new SIMATIC HMI device for specific applications – can display numerical values in a highly legibly manner. The main advantage is therefore readability from very long distances. The integrated IR interface now makes it possible to link bidirectional infrared communication with a range of up to 10 m in SIMATIC applications and into the TIA Portal.

The infrared interface contains both an infrared receiver for remote control and an infrared sender for communication between display units. A compatible remote control (6ES7292-0CA50-0AA0) can also be supplied. 8 digital inputs/outputs and two LEDs are also available on the module.

The configuration is made in the TIA Portal V14 or higher. An GSD file is available to the user for this purpose.

The SIMATIC IRD400 has an internal PROFINET switch and integrates itself seamlessly into a PROFINET network.
