Network topology and network configuration

The SCALANCE TAP104 is typically housed in a control cabinet and integrated directly between the connection of two active network stations.

When configuring the network, the following boundary conditions must be observed:

• Length of the twisted-pair cable between two active network components when integrating a SCALANCE TAP104:
  • Max. 100 m with Industrial Ethernet FastConnect products
• Length of the twisted pair cable to TAPs:
  • Max. 10 m
