PRODAVE MPI can be used to monitor, evaluate and influence a process.

For this purpose, the functions contained by the toolbox include:

• Read PLC info (MLFB, release version of CPU firmware).
• Read PLC status (RUN, STOP).
• Read data words from block (range from ... to ...).
• Write data words into block.
• Read input bytes from PLC.
• Write/read output bytes into/from PLC.
• Format conversions of data (e.g. fixed-point format to integer).
• Memory bit test as status test.
• Read memory byte or word from PLC.
• Write memory byte or word into PLC.
• Read counter value of PLC.
• Set counter value of PLC.
• Read times from PLC.
• Output error messages in plain text.
• Teleservice functions

PRODAVE MPI/IE V6.1 additionally contains the following functions:

• Support of standard Ethernet cards on the PC
• Access to all relevant Ethernet CPUs and CPs of the SIMATIC S7:
  CPU 31x PN, CP 343 and CP 443 Standard and Advanced
• Doubleword support when reading/writing data blocks over Industrial Ethernet

PRODAVE MPI Mini has a reduced scope of functions:

• Read data words from block (range from ... to ...).
• Write data words into block.
• Read PLC info.

Teleservice functions and data exchange over Industrial Ethernet are not supported.

Mode of operation

PRODAVE operates in the background while other applications are being executed in the foreground, e.g. statistical evaluations of such process data.

System prerequisites

PRODAVE MPI/IE V6.2 executes under the following operating systems:

• Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 and SP3 32-bit
• Microsoft Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate, 32-bit and 64-bit

To operate PRODAVE MPI over MPI, either the MPI interface (CP 5611) or the PC-MPI adapter is required in the PG/PC. For operation with S7-200, either the CP 5611 or the PC/PPI cable is required. The USB-PPI cable is not supported.

Standard Ethernet cards can be used in the PG/PC for operation of PRODAVE MPI/IE.

All common C Compilers can be used as development environment. Other Windows programming languages can be used through DLL access operations.
