During IEC 61850 MMS communication with the IEDs (protective equipment), the station controller acts like an IEC 61850 MMS client. The IEDs are IEC 61850 MMS servers.

All IEC 61850 tags in the IED can be addressed via the station controller. Time stamp, value, and status of the tags are transferred depending on the configuration. The time stamp always originates from the protective equipment.

Configuration of the data function is supported by a standard tool. The SC_DRV library included in the delivery is available for CFC configuration.

Further protocols for the station controller are available on request for special applications.
